October 2015 brought with it the news that the physical bingo halls operated as Gala Bingo were to be divested by owner Gala Coral Group prior to their merger with Ladbrokes.
The new owners, Caledonia Investments, paid £241 million in a deal which provided them the physical bingo halls and a licence to use the name. What the deal did not include was the GalaBingo.com site, which was retained by Gala Coral Group.
Some two years later, they terminated the brand licence and announced a rebrand to Buzz Bingo. This rebrand brought with it a new coat of paint within the clubs, and a shiny new website.
The Bingo is a fairly typical VirtueFusion skin, featuring games such as Rainbow Riches Bingo, Fluffy Favourites Bingo and Deal or No Deal Bingo. There are some exclusive to Buzz Bingo, such as The Voice UK Bingo and Buzz Bingo Blast; but otherwise it’s business as usual.
Arguably that’s not a bad thing. The games are easy to play, the presentation clear on desktop and mobile; and because of the size of the network the potential prizes are reasonable even in the smaller rooms.
The slots selection is reasonable, including games from Red Tiger, IGT, SG Digital, Blueprint and others. There’s a lack of anything from Big Time Gaming, which is a shame; but no doubt one that will be resolved soon enough.
There’s plenty here for the lower-stake slots player. Primal Megaways from Blueprint frequently has a minimum stake of 20p; whereas at BuzzBingo.com, the minimum is 10p. I’ve won £100 for 10p playing Primal Megaways here, which for the stake is not to be sniffed at.
